...a bit of history
The existence and future of a farm depend heavily upon the choices and decisions of the farmer, and they are linked to its productivity.
The productivity goes hand in hand with the production cost. The production cost goes hand in hand with the nutrition of the livestock (70-80% of the total production cost is the nutrition cost). The animal nutrition is crucial to the course of the farm’s productivity.
Based upon the aforementioned reasoning, one can understand why the animal nutrition receives so much attention and thought. While in the late ‘80s most farms where using manufactured feedingstuffs (pre-made feed), that time marked the starting point of a new practice: preparing the feed at the farm. This particular practice created the need for feed supplements. Though at first the products used were imported, they were gradually replaced with others that were made in Greece.
The basic principle in self-mixing is one: individualization of the needs of a specific unit. This requires excellent nutrition expertise and direct collaboration with the breeder to determine the nutritional model that will minimize costs and optimize yields. The possibility of change is necessary depending on the availability of raw materials and their cost.
…our philosophy
The nutrition pattern defines the production of the supplements, not the other way around.
This is the infallible principle by which we conduct our business.
- We run the first government approved laboratory of animal nutrition supplements in Serres and we follow strict tracking rules.
- Our pursuit of steady and long-term collaborations with both suppliers and farmers is what creates optimum results.
